Ready, set, take a bite!!!!

This is me in my Bumbo seat, this is me with a bib on, this is Mommy putting something really weird but yummy in my mouth!

This is me pretending to be a monkey. Though I wasn't eating bannannas. I was eating a little rice cereal with prunes in it.

Still working on keeping the food in my mouth. But I'm getting lots better.

Brother had to get in on the act. He was teaching me how to chew my food. Just not how to do it with my mouth closed.

4 Months!!!! Wow!!

I'm busy napping so I'm going to have Mommy take care of this post....

Parker is just growing by leaps and bounds. I can't believe how big he is getting. As of yesterday he is 25 1/2 inches long, 14 lbs and 12 oz, and his head is 16 3/4 inches around. This puts him pretty squarely in the 75th percentile.

The doctor says he is very healthy and developing right on schedule. So we started solid foods today. Rice cereal mixed with prunes. We're doing the prunes because he just isn't regular enough. She encouraged us to continue to get him to work on sleeping through the night and taking 2 naps daily. I agree with her, Parker doesn't.

Parker is now sitting up supported, sucking on is hands, smiling, laughing, and pushing up on his tummy. He even trys to get his knees under him. Oh boy, I'm in trouble.
He loves to hang out and nap in his bouncy seat. He has two one downstairs and one in his room. He likes to sleep propped up, it makes breathing a lot easier. For those of you who don't know Parker has had a few issues with wheezing. Right now he is fine and we'll be watching for any further issues as cold and flu season continues.
Parker loves to smile at anyone who makes silly faces. So you can guess big bro Bryce cracks him up all day long. Stay tuned for more updates as the year goes on. The doctor is guessing he'll be crawling by Christmas....ughhhhhhhhhhh :-)

Parker Partying

I have been out partying quite a bit lately. You can't keep a good baby down.

The gang problem in Maricopa is really getting out of control.

Bryce said I stole his outfit and his pose. I think he's just jealous.

Finally, some 1:1 time with my girlfriend...

...quickly interrupted by our siblings. :(

Seven Weeks and Growing

Can you believe it? I'm already 6 weeks old. I'm starting to get into a routine around this crazy place. I take two long naps a day once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Mommy takes Bryce and I twice a weeks to this place where she pushes us around in a stroller. Bryce calls it Stroller Strides. She also likes to take me somewhere to buy what she calls food. Don't ask me, I get all of my food directly from her about 8 or 9 times a day. Which is why I am growing so big. Mommy guesses I'm about 10lbs now and 21 1/2 inches long.

Today I helped Mommy take Bryce to pre-school and then we went grocery shopping. I had the best nap!

At night I sleep from about 10:30/11:oo PM to about 3:00 AM and then get up again around 6:00AM. Of course last night I was up several times. I had a bit of a tummy ache. Which Mommy found out about the last time she picked me up from my cradle...you should of seen her face it was soooooo funny. But Bryce's was even better. I'm such a little stinker.

I've learned to smile now. These are real smiles, not just the ones when I have gas. I am also getting really good at lifting my head up. The doctor told Mommy, I'd probably be crawling by 6 months, walking by 9 months, and running by 10 months. For some strange reason Mommy fainted. She really is a funny lady.

I adore my big brother Bryce, I just can't take my eyes off of him. He is just so funny!!! He makes the best faces. I can't wait to play with him.

Well, that's all for now...I've got to go take a nap. This "baby thing" is a lot of hard work. Oh and check out the slideshow over in the corner of the page...I've added a few new photos.

Just short of 4 weeks

Well it has been just short of 4 weeks since Parker entered the world. We have found that for the most part he is a very "easy" baby. He only gets upset when he is wet, dirty, hungry, or needing to be held. All of which are quick easy fixes. He eats about every 2 or 3 hours which is causing a loss of sleep for Mommy and Daddy at night. He also slightly has day and night backwards, which is contributing to sleep loss for Mommy and Daddy. However, Parker's nighttime crying doesn't even phase Big Brother Bryce. Bryce adores his baby brother and just can't wait until Parker is old enough to play with him. He wants to hold and love on him all the time. Which leads to us saying "Don't wake the baby" a lot. We're taking Parker for his 1 month check up on Friday, which is Daddy's birthday. So we'll have more to report then.

Happy Birthday Parker!

Parker Bennett Girouard

So for those of you used to reading Bryce's Blogg, you know that he generaly does all of his own blogging. Well since Parker is just a little more than 24 hours old, he just doesn't have the ability to type on his own. So he has asked me to do it for him. This is the story of Parker's arrival.

********

So it started out like any other Sunday. We ran errands, went to lunch, and spent the afternoon floating in Grandma and Pa's pool. We ended up having Pei Wei's for dinner at Grandma and Pa's and then headed home. We got home and enjoyed some more family time together and then all of us went to bed early. Not knowing what was going to arrive in a little more than 12 hours.

Mom woke up at about 12:15 to use the restroom. Which has been pretty normal for the last 9 months. However, when she sat up something was just a little different. It seemed some contractions had started. So she stayed awake for about 30 minutes and only felt one more contraction so she went back to sleep. Figuring it was nothing. At about 2:00 AM she once again woke up to a more painful contraction. She stayed up for another hour timing contractions at 10 minutes appart. From 3:00 to 3:45 they got more painful and started happening every 5 minutes. Time to call Aunt Lisa for some babysitting.

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Will arrived at 4 AM and Mom and Dad headed for the hospital. All went smoothly in triage with contractions coming about 3 minutes appart. Once Mom and Dad were moved to Labor and Delivery, they called Grandma and she headed for the hospital. Meanwhile, Nana and Poppy were getting ready to head for Maricopa to pick up Big Brother Bryce, to stay with them for a couple of days. Then Aunt Lisa headed for the hospital.

Labor and Delivery went off without a hitch. Other than a messed up IV that has left a pretty good bruise on Mom's hand. She swears the next kid (if she was having one) would be at home with a mid-wife so there would be no needles at all. Messed up IV hurt more than the a good portion of the contractions. Daddy of course needs to point out that yet again Mom did this all without and Epidural. He's really amazed and proud of her.

Mom's favorite part of labor was the fact that the nurses loved her flip flops so much. She was sporting a brand new pair of Tip Toe Bow's Flip Flops. "Thanks, Lisa"..."I hope I got you some bussiness."

Parker arrived after 6 or 7 good hard pushes at exactly 10 AM. Seriously. The other funny thing was we were in room 23 and Parker was born on the 23rd of June. Another funny one for the memory books is what Mommy was watching at home while timing contractions. Three years ago while timing contractions Mommy and Daddy were watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Since "Buffy" is no longer in re-runs, Mommy sat up and watched the spin off of "Buffy"..."Angel". Kinda funny if you look at Parker as the spin off of Bryce.

We had lots of first visitors yesterday for Parker and lots of emails. Daddy made sure to keep most people up to date with emails. Those who lived close came to visit. Grandma and Aunt Lisa were actually in the room when Parker arrived. Pa came to visit as soon as he could. After all of those visitors left, we napped for awhile. Then Nana and Poppy brought Bryce to visit. Our last visistors of the day were the Braggalopes.

We made it through our first night. And decided since we were all healthy that we would come home. The doctors said that was just fine. So now we are home resting and enjoying the coos of our newest family member.

Parker you will never know how special you are to all of us. From Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother Bryce.

Still Waiting

We are still waiting for the arrival of our sweet little Parker. It is almost 8PM on Sunday and Bryce has just gone to bed. It has been a busy day here in the Girouard household. We've been shopping today and off to a friend's birthday party. Parker has been given MaMa kicks all day, just to let her know he is here. The 3 of us can't wait to meet him. Daddy and Bryce are paitently waiting. Mommy on the other hand is on pins and needles. You see she has a tough time waiting for Christmas to come, so she can open her gifts. And Parker will be her second greatest gift ever, so she just can't wait. Parker is due on the 26th of June and since we know Bryce didn't arrive until his due date, we are guessing Mr. Parker Bennett will do the same thing. So be thinking of us come Wednesday, Parker may be starting his journey into this Great Big World. We'll post lots of pictures here, once he arrives.

~~~love to all, Amanda (a.k.a. Mommy)
Why God Made Little Boys
God made the world out of His dreams
Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plains and wooded land,
Then paused and thought "I need someone to stand
On top of mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees.
Someone to start out small and to grow,
Sturdy, strong as a tree…" And so,
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
To explore and conquer, to romp and run.
With dirty faces and banged up chins,
With courageous hearts and boyish grins.
When He had completed the task He'd begun
He surely said "A job well done".
I found this while I was up one night waiting for my newest little guy to arrive. He is due in 5 days. I wonder how long it will really be until I get to hold him in my arms. ~ Mommy
