Happy Birthday Parker!
So for those of you used to reading Bryce's Blogg, you know that he generaly does all of his own blogging. Well since Parker is just a little more than 24 hours old, he just doesn't have the ability to type on his own. So he has asked me to do it for him. This is the story of Parker's arrival.
********
So it started out like any other Sunday. We ran errands, went to lunch, and spent the afternoon floating in Grandma and Pa's pool. We ended up having Pei Wei's for dinner at Grandma and Pa's and then headed home. We got home and enjoyed some more family time together and then all of us went to bed early. Not knowing what was going to arrive in a little more than 12 hours.
Mom woke up at about 12:15 to use the restroom. Which has been pretty normal for the last 9 months. However, when she sat up something was just a little different. It seemed some contractions had started. So she stayed awake for about 30 minutes and only felt one more contraction so she went back to sleep. Figuring it was nothing. At about 2:00 AM she once again woke up to a more painful contraction. She stayed up for another hour timing contractions at 10 minutes appart. From 3:00 to 3:45 they got more painful and started happening every 5 minutes. Time to call Aunt Lisa for some babysitting.
Aunt Lisa and Uncle Will arrived at 4 AM and Mom and Dad headed for the hospital. All went smoothly in triage with contractions coming about 3 minutes appart. Once Mom and Dad were moved to Labor and Delivery, they called Grandma and she headed for the hospital. Meanwhile, Nana and Poppy were getting ready to head for Maricopa to pick up Big Brother Bryce, to stay with them for a couple of days. Then Aunt Lisa headed for the hospital.
Labor and Delivery went off without a hitch. Other than a messed up IV that has left a pretty good bruise on Mom's hand. She swears the next kid (if she was having one) would be at home with a mid-wife so there would be no needles at all. Messed up IV hurt more than the a good portion of the contractions. Daddy of course needs to point out that yet again Mom did this all without and Epidural. He's really amazed and proud of her.
Mom's favorite part of labor was the fact that the nurses loved her flip flops so much. She was sporting a brand new pair of Tip Toe Bow's Flip Flops. "Thanks, Lisa"..."I hope I got you some bussiness."
Parker arrived after 6 or 7 good hard pushes at exactly 10 AM. Seriously. The other funny thing was we were in room 23 and Parker was born on the 23rd of June. Another funny one for the memory books is what Mommy was watching at home while timing contractions. Three years ago while timing contractions Mommy and Daddy were watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Since "Buffy" is no longer in re-runs, Mommy sat up and watched the spin off of "Buffy"..."Angel". Kinda funny if you look at Parker as the spin off of Bryce.
We had lots of first visitors yesterday for Parker and lots of emails. Daddy made sure to keep most people up to date with emails. Those who lived close came to visit. Grandma and Aunt Lisa were actually in the room when Parker arrived. Pa came to visit as soon as he could. After all of those visitors left, we napped for awhile. Then Nana and Poppy brought Bryce to visit. Our last visistors of the day were the Braggalopes.
We made it through our first night. And decided since we were all healthy that we would come home. The doctors said that was just fine. So now we are home resting and enjoying the coos of our newest family member.
Parker you will never know how special you are to all of us. From Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother Bryce.

Doing this without an epi: Parker its not just Daddy who thinks Mom is cool; Aunt Cassie and Uncle Evan think that too!
Welcome, spin off. May your run be as successful as Big Brother Bryce.
